Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) $19-$22/Hr.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, bathing, dressing, eating, ambulation, transfers, and mobility.

• Assist with wheelchairs, walkers, and other daily-living devices.

• Provide authorized patient-care support, including toileting, bedpan/urinal assistance, catheter bag care, ostomy care, prescribed range-of-motion exercises, vital signs, blood glucose testing, intake/output, and special diets.

• Assist with prescribed oxygen nasal cannulas and CPAP devices without changing prescribed oxygen levels.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy patient environment through light housekeeping, laundry, dishes, and straightening.

• Maintain accurate care records and promptly report changes in the patient’s condition to the appropriate nurse.

• Protect patient privacy, dignity, safety, and confidentiality.

Medication Assistance

When authorized under Florida law and the patient’s plan of care, CNAs may provide limited assistance with self-administered medications, such as retrieving medication, providing reminders, opening containers, preparing water or other necessary items, and observing the patient self-administer the medication.

Required nursing review and patient/caregiver consent must be completed when applicable.

Scope of Practice

CNAs must perform only duties authorized by their training, the patient’s plan of care, agency policies, and applicable Florida laws and regulations. CNAs may not perform services requiring professional licensure or other prohibited activities, including sterile dressing changes, wound irrigation or debridement, catheterization, enteral feeding, tracheostomy care, administration of controlled substances, application of heat, or filling/removing medications from pill organizers.
